Jhowa B.K. is a member of the Karnali Provincial Assembly. She delivered a speech in the house during the sixth provincial convention; after which her leadership was questioned, criticized, and she was mocked publicly, for not being able to speak fluent Nepali which is not her native language. Her story started powerful discussions around promoting indigenous languages by Nepal’s government.
